Baxter

Last year, in June, we purchased a bulldog puppy, 3 days after he arrived my husband fell down our house stairs and broke 4 ribs, and lots of minor injuries. I had forgotten how much work a puppy was. Between chasing the puppy and the worry with my husband, I became a nut case. But, I can say now that we have survived, with the help of Zolof (thank you doctor) and time. We are now on our way to being a family. Baxter (the puppy) and my husband (Joe) have formed a great bond. My husband is going to be 80 this May and the dog has always been a little more careful around him. Joe walks with a cane now and Baxter seems to know not to bother him to much. He will walk slowly beside him, looking up at him every once in a while to see if he is doing ok.
Joe is still in a lot of pain from his fall. He has 2 torn rotator cuffs that can not be repaired. He is on pain patches right now, but we don't know if that is our answer. Having Baxter helps him take his mind off the pain. He sits in his chair and Baxter will come and plop down in front of him as close as he can get so Joe can rub his neck, shoulders and head. I love watching this, it is their special time.
